Day 1: Entebbe to Kampala
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will meet a guide /driver from Gecko Safaris Uganda and he will drive you to the capital city(Kampala) for dinner and overnight sleep at the hotel booked at.
Day 2: Kampala to Murchison falls national park.
Having had breakfast at the hotel slept at, you will be picked up by the driver to head to the northwest towards Murchison Falls National Park. Make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a nature walk that will allow you a view of the rare rhinos in the wild. The next stop over will be in Masindi town for Lunch. There after head on to the Park, with a stopover at the “Top of the fall” to enjoy the magnificent falls from above. Have dinner and overnight at Paara safari lodge, Murchison safari lodge, Red chili red camp.
Day 3: launch cruise on the river Nile.
Third day of the safaris will enable you a game drive to view and take photographs of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, leopards though they are not a must see, plus a variety of bird species. Lunch at the lodge. Proceed for a launch cruise to the bottom of the famous Murchison falls. This brings you yet another opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles along the riverbanks and many water birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan full board.
Day 4: Murchison to Rwenzori mountains national park.
Head south west of the country which will take you quit some good hours since it’s along way from Murchison falls national park. You will then drive through hoima to fort portal in Toro kingdom where you will choose to stop over so as not to miss out on the cultural encounters of the Batooro people. While there you will feel the nearness to the mountains of the moon the snowy source of the Nile. Have lunch and arrest from the journey. Afternoon hours will allow you the exploration of the Kasenda craters. Thereafter have dinner and overnight at Rwenzori mountains safari lodge, Ruboni community camp, Trekkers hostel.
Day 5: Rwenzori to Queen Elizabeth National Park
wake up early enough to have breakfast and proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park known as a medley of wonders”. On arrival you will then have lunch, relax and go for the launch cruise along Kazinga channel in the afternoon hours. Head back for Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge, Lake Chibwera camp, Mweya hostel.
Day 6: Kyambura Gorge-Ishasha(QENP)
We will spend the whole day in this same park, starting with an early morning game drive along Kasenyi trail famous for lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and many more. Back to the lodge for lunch. Drive to Kyambura gorge for a forest walk to look for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates. After the primate walk, drive to ishasha sector of the park, famous for the tree climbing lions, .Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Ishasha game drive and transfer to Ruhengeri
Have breakfast and head for agame drive to have a glance at the famous tree climbing lions that are found in ishasha sector of QENP have lunch and proceed to Rwanda musanze, you will check out the musanze caves. Dinner and overnight in the nearby lodging.
Day 8: Gorilla tracking and Transfer to Gisenyi.
There is a routine briefing conducted by the guides, you will then enter the sanctuary of the mountain gorillas found in the volcanoes, the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding the five Virunga Volcanoes. And carry a history of Dian Fossey a biologist who worked there till the time of her death. When trekking these apes it’s straining but rewarding at the end when you get in close view of the gorillas. At the ends of the exercise transfer to Gisenyi for dinner and asleep over.
Day 9: Scenic view and Transfer to Cyangugu
Gisenyi looks prity because it is a pretty town located on the shores of Lake Kivu, the main water body of Rwanda. You descend the escarpment down to the lake, with fantastic views of the Volcanoes. You will be transferred to Nyungwe for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Chimp tracking in Nyungwe Forest
In assumption that you have packed lunch and drinking water, after an early breakfast, you enter Nyungwe forest for the trekking in search for the chimpanzees. Nyungwe has over 1000 sq.km, and its home to 13primate species and 275 bird species and more plus a hundred varieties of orchids. After the search you will then return to the hotel for dinner and a nights rest.
Day 11: Kigali and the culture of Rwanda
On your way to Kigali you will make a stop in Gikongoro for a tour at one of the genocide memorials known as Murambi this will give you a touching story and pictures of the Rwanda genocide. There after you will have lunch and visit some other area called Butare which is reach with nice handcrafts and has a national cultural museum that should be a must see for the tourist you will then get to Kigali and check in at the hotel for diner and asleep over.
Day 12: Kigali City tour and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will then visit the Kigali museum memorial for the genocide you will watch some touching videos of the genocide and then you can go see the Nyamata genocide tombs then proceed to Uganda. To enjoy lake Bunyonyi.
Day 13: Boat ride and Transfer towards Lake Mburo
Early morning wake take breakfast and go for a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to various islands including Bwama Island Bwoona Magala Island these e islands all have beauties to offer you for example bird viewing, sight seeing and discovering the sites of the Bakiga culture. You then drive to Lake Mburo National park with lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight in Mbarara at Igongo cultural Centre, Agip motel.
Day 14: Game drive and Boat ride then back to Kampala
Enjoy an early morning game drive along the trails of Lake Mburo National park to see Zebras, kobs, bird species, and other attractions. Have breakfast and enjoy the boat ride along Lake Mburo National park to see hippos, birds etc. Have lunch and transfer to Kampala for the overnight.
Day 15: City tour and departure
the very last day that brings you to the end of your safaris will help you a city tour around Kampala. You will visit the important cultural sites like kasuubi tombs and religious sites like Rubaga cathedral, the Uganda national museum then have lunch and prepare to leave for Entebbe International airport for your flight back home.
